Who
we are
We are The Witham & Countryside Society, a not for profit voluntary organisation with the aim of:
encouraging high standards of architecture and planning;
stimulating public interest and pride in the environment; and
conservation, development and improvement of features of public
amenity and historical interest in Witham and the surrounding area.
What
information we hold and why
We keep the name and address of all members for record and
contact purposes, and hand delivery of bulletins. We also hold email addresses
for electronic bulletin delivery. In exceptional circumstances we will use email
addresses to circulate important information to members.
What
we do not do with this information
We will not share any of this information with a third
party for any reason, give out a membership list or email addresses to anyone.
We will not circulate information from third parties to members ourselves.
How
we keep it secure
Membership records are held by the Membership Secretary on
a personal PC, protected by industry standard data security, and not removed
from the home. Email addresses are held by the Chairman, protected by industry
standard data security and held online by BT Yahoo. All email distribution is by
‘Blind Carbon Copy’ (BCC) to protect member’s email addresses.
